OOC and Sim Rules

By entering and remaining in this sim, you give consent to abide by the rules put forth and the covenant. You also agree that you have read and understand these rules once you make use of the teleporters. Ignorance is no excuse. If you do not agree with our rules and laws, there is no need to complain in IMs about them. You may simply go on your merry way to the next sim.

The sim and OOC rules are not IC laws. 

Short Rules

  • No one under 18 years of age or child avatars. 

  • No trading of captives for Linden $$ on the sim.

  • No insulting, aggressive, or harassing behavior in OOC/IM - this is not acceptable.

  • Keep it Gorean and Honor the Books (HtB). ​

  • Keep it legal per real life laws.  

  • Meter optional in Minus and is discouraged within Treve proper.  We allow and host servers for both zCS and GM meter, but recommend contestants agree on one or the other before engaging in contest/battle.  GM and zCS are not perfectly compatible.

  • No breed-able animals.  No grow-able plants. 

    • Region Owner seeks to manage script load on the region to better the experience for everyone, and reserves the right to return objects in the region.  If you enjoy roleplay with highly scripted items, please make arrangements to rez them when you need them, and otherwise put them away.  That toy that you use one hour a month puts a script load on the region all day every day.

  • Abide by the Linden Labs Terms of Service (ToS).  

  • Snapshots and/or photographs and machinima on this estate shall not capture the name tag of avatars.

    • Machinima often captures name tags if care is not taken to turn off name tags in your viewer.  In-world photographs (as of this writing) do not capture name tags, but out-of-world tools such as Microsoft Snipping tool will capture name tags if care is not taken to turn off name tags in your viewer. Etiquette

  • All role players are to be treated equally, regardless of the role they play.

  • Please, take turns or, in scenes with more than two people, follow post order.

  • It’s alright to suddenly enter a scene but wait before posting until you figure out what's going on.

    • Please use an entrance post to merge into the scene.

  • Please, don’t shoot a sequence of one-line posts in rapid fire. Try to combine ideas together and form a short paragraph: things will flow a lot better. 

    • If you post just one line, please wait for a reply before posting another.

  • If you’re taking longer than 5 minutes to finish your post, please write (cont.) and hit enter so the person can read something.

  • Don't post something and run away before the other person can finish typing their reply. 

  • If people are having a serious meeting about something, serving kajirae/kajiri should keep their serves short and do clever things i.e. one kajira/kajirus walk around with a pitcher of drink and another kajira/kajirus walk around with a plate of snacks.  

  • Likewise, those that like loquacious exchanges of stories and those that want to have an efficient meeting (e.g., to hire someone) need to be nice to each other and share the local chat space, which may involve moving beyond 20 meters or adjusting behaviors in other ways. 

  • If you are on the sim in a RP area and have an emergency, please move out of the way, sit, and set yourself away so people don't stop by to post to you and be ignored.

  • Anyone is entitled to fade to black sexual or boring interactions. Post (ftb) and the next post of your roleplay partner should pick up hours after the event, already going over its results.  Whatever happened still happened; you just don't have to sweat through the gory details.

Moderation and Moderators

  • Hopefully we can all just get along.  Banning people is no fun.  Moderating squabbles is no fun.

  • Though we do not have RP mods, we do have sim mods. Please be respectful if one contacts you. 

  • There will be NO moderation of story lines. Period. All IC conflict will be handled IC.

    • Breaking IC laws is acceptable, just act like an adult and handle the consequences. ICA = ICC.

    • The only exceptions are BtB raids, assassinations, and questionable IC kills.

      • This pertains mainly to pew-pew kills. ​

  • If someone is breaking an OOC rule, the Sim Administration will handle the situation. If necessary, the offender will be ejected from the sim for an appropriate amount of time.

    • Be mindful of this. We will not eject over petty matters.

  • All OOC conflict in IM's will be handled between the parties involved. Mute each other, file abuse reports with Linden Labs; whatever. Do not include the Sim Administration. The TOS does not support sharing IMs without consent, and the IM technology doesn't support any way for you to prove to us that you have consent for IM copying.  Just don't send the moderators copies of IMs, please.  

Sex and Religion

  • It's Gor and sex can and will happen anywhere. It's Gor: sex is part of the game.

  • Non-traditional (in a Gorean sense) sexuality is present in parts of the books, but was kept low-key in the books. We don't want to discriminate, but neither do we want to host debates about modern earth policy; this is Gor.

  • Religion: Please be tolerant.  Religious beliefs were a very important part of Gorean life with the fear of the Priest-Kings (whose true form is unknown unless one has visited the Nest) and their blue flame, or the worshiping of the Torvaldslander deity, or the sky for the Wagon People.  Additionally, those brought from earth may have brought their earth religions with them.
