Non-Raid Combat

Non-Raid Combat is In-Character (IC) Combat by persons settling an IC dispute using weapons.

This includes conflict with free women and slaves where the meter will be used.

Non-Raid combat is allowed in both Treve and Minus.

Non-Raid Combat: Starting and Performing

  • The Aggressor must IC'ly shout emote, to make it stand out from the clutter, drawing the weapon and the intent of assault.

    • Challenge Emote must be 10 words minimum, including name of the target/defender.

    • This allows the defender the option of engaging in metered combat or choosing another means of conflict resolution (dice, kaissa, battle-of-emotes, etc. OOC'ly in IMs).

    •  If Defender chooses the option of engaging another means of conflict resolution (dice, kaissa, battle-of-emotes, etc.), aggressor and defender shall work out terms in IMs.  For example, if dice are chosen, aggressor and defender must agree on dice (zCS meter dice are recommended).  Aggressor has the option of declining alternate conflict resolution method and if so must withdraw their challenge (IC'ly).

  • Attacker must wait two minutes for defender to decide what to do.

    • The reason is Attacker has already had time to adjust graphics settings for the fight, and the defender needs time to do the same.

  • After the Challenge Emote, defender is not required to respond via emote and may draw to defend in which case the metered combat begins.

  • If Defender chooses to flee, you may not simply give chase and assault them.

    • You must emote to begin chasing them ...(Chase Emote, 10 words minimum including name of Defender) with weapon drawn with the intent of attack (to give them a head start). You must shout this Chase Emote for they will quickly be out of chat range.

  • After the combat ends, typical capture protocol will be in play. The same rules for defeated players in raids will apply. (See Raid Rules)

  • Special rules for Assassins: None.  Assassins must play by same rules as everyone else.

RP limits will be honored.

  • If practical, players may "fade to black' and pick-up the story line after the aspects that are in conflict with a player's limits.

  • Players may choose to opt out of explicit role play they do not feel comfortable participating in, such as rape or excessive violence and gore. “Fade to black” remains an option.

    • If a person chooses to fade to black, respect that choice. You would expect your limits to be honored if the roles were reversed.
